Pastor Joel was born and raised in St. Paul, MN.  He attended Northwestern College and Bethel Seminary, both in St. Paul, and also Sioux Falls Seminary in South Dakota.  He pastored at Riverview Baptist Church in West St. Paul, MN for almost 20 years before coming to rural Tennessee to start a church in the McEwen area.  

Joel and his wife, Betsy, have three children.  In his free time, Pastor Joel likes to be outdoors, work with his hands, talk theology and the Bible, play music, and create.  If you'd like to learn more about Bold Springs Community Church, he'd be happy to take you out for coffee.
